My Daily Thoughts 4/6/08

I'm going to start with something a little different today: I can no longer let the Denver Nuggets go unmentioned. This team is an absolute defensive abomination. If Mike Brown watched a Denver Nuggets game, I think he would keel over and uncontrollably start muttering "the horror" for days on end. I am going to go as far as saying that this team is making a mockery of organized basketball in that they don't even give a shit about playing anything resembling this thing that other teams call "defense". It's one half of the game George Karl. And until your stupid ass realizes that , YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE. I hope this joke of a team makes the playoffs as the eighth seed and then gets swept because they haven't played defense in over 4 seasons. 151 points to the Seattle Supersonics with 6 games left in the season that never even began in Seattle. They gave up 19 points to Luke Ridnour and 35 to Jeff Green. Wow.

Well the Indians game was slightly less excruciating today then it had been the past two days. At least they won, but the offense continues to look absolutely dismal. The main thing that I'm taking away from today's game is Cliff Lee's performance, as pitching is what is going to get it done for us this season. He looked as if he had regained form, at least for one day, and had incredible command of his pitches, especially his fastball. This was the most encouraging thing, as form and command are what is going to keep him on track this season. As for the offense, you could just say they are struggling out of the gate and struggling without Victor Martinez, but I think some glaring weaknesses have been exposed that might hurt us throughout the season. We have to get more production out of our corner infield spots, and I cannot stand when Jhonny Struggles, he looks like shit at the plate and doesn't make up for it in the field. I don't think David Delucci is going to get a hit all year. Ben Francisco needs to be called up right away.

My Daily thoughts 4/4/08

Thank God the Cavs didn't play tonight, I can't handle them right now.

The Indians game was pretty fucking awful tonight. This was fundamentally one of the worst games I've seen a team play in awhile. They're plate discipline as a team was absolutely dreadful, and Travis Hafner was just waiving at offspeed pitches for most of the night. Half of this team isn't hitting at all, and I am really nervous about Franklin Gutierrez already. He can't hit righties whatsoever. There were also several defensive stumbles tonight, and one glaring mental error committed by Asdrubal Cabrera. I guess some of this shit can be expected early in the season, but still, I'm really impatient. It seems like Kelly Shoppach has had 25 passed balls the past two games, and I cannot wait for VMart to get back, he is the MVP of this team. Paul Byrd was Paul Byrd, and he is headed for the worst year of his career, his time as a major league pitcher is running out. Hopefully we can start to hit, although we traditionally suck ass offensively in April. I always have to keep telling myself that its the first week of the season and not to worry that much, but I still do. I can't handle losing...ever.

I had an on-phone argument with some random Steelers fan tonight. I am tired of people arguing that their team is better simply because they have a better quarterback. It is such an elementary argument. I guess the Browns still aren't as good as the Steelers because DA isn't as good as Big Ben, despite the fact that most other aspects of the Browns roster are as strong or stronger than Pittsburgh's. He mentioned our D, I mentioned their offensive line and dwindling offensive power. That was about it.

The Tigers lost again. I hate them terribly....but not as much as the Red Sox.

My Nightly Thoughts - 4/3/08

The Indians game was pretty entertaining today, if you like boring ass pitching duels. You don't win games when you get 2 hits. The pitching has been promising, and thats what counts. We always lose 2-1 to the Chi Sox once a year.

This day was made better by the fact that Detroit Lost and Steroids Sheffield tore a tendon in his finger.

Ohio State played an amazing offensive game and finished off their best 5 game stretch of the year in winning the NIT. Jamar Butler is a nationally underrated player, and Kosta Kofous has pretty amazing potential when he puts it all together.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are an absolute and utter abomination. They made me sick with rage tonight, something that hasn't happened since a suns game awhile back. How in the name of jesus h fucking christ do you score 13 points in the fourth quarter at home against the chicago bulls?? Lebron was terrible late in the game and didn't make a field goal in the fourth. I don't give a fuck about the fact that it was the second night of a back to back, this is the worst loss I HAVE EVER SEEN as a cavs fan. Yea yea yea, we're locked into the fourth spot and we can't get excited about playing the bulls. I don't give a shit. I officially am sick of Mike Brown.
